About MARV1N

Strategic partner

In 2025 we founded MARV1N to continue expanding the CGI cooperation with the Volkswagen Group. 

Our close partnership is enabling Volkswagen to strengthen its capabilities for driving the long-term further development of a future-proof, high-performing IT infrastructure. That’s why the company of MARV1N was launched within the scope of this cooperation.

This international development unit – a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGI – is a strategic partner to Volkswagen. MARV1N will play a key role in driving group-wide digitalization projects and systematically strengthening Volkswagen’s in-house teams of developers. This collaboration is planned to run for at least ten years.

The MARV1N teams are initially concentrating on technological development at Volkswagen: a focus of the group’s ongoing digitalization offensive. It’s primarily about accelerating the data-driven development of functions for new vehicle projects.

Historically, its applications were managed by a variety of external providers, creating fragmented operations, inconsistent performance, and limited cost visibility.

To tackle these challenges, Volkswagen Group and CGI established MARV1N as a strategic solution to:

    MARV1N serves as an international software development unit for enterprise-wide digital transformation projects and supports the developers at Volkswagen Group. With MARV1N’s additional resources, the Volkswagen Group can develop new IT systems faster and more efficiently.

  • Implement best practices:
    By leveraging CGI’s delivery expertise and combining it with Volkswagen’s best practices, Volkswagen Group can better align IT delivery with business priorities and performance standards.

  • Optimize costs:
    Shifting the operating model and moving from primarily local delivery to a nearshore and offshore model generates significant cost savings from a total cost of ownership perspective, while ensuring control and accountability through MARV1N’s governance structure.
